Linking locations to Impulse

How location linking works

Impulse uses the locations set up in your Shopify admin. You do not usually need to link locations manually inside Impulse.

If your store has more than one active location in Shopify, Impulse can work with more than one linked location. It is not limited to only one location. Impulse follows the locations you have configured in Shopify and uses that setup in the app workflow.

This means the best place to manage location linking is Shopify admin. If you add, remove, activate, or change locations in Shopify, Impulse will follow those changes.

Quick answer: If you have multiple active locations in Shopify, Impulse can work with multiple linked locations. Check your Shopify admin location settings first, because Impulse follows the locations configured there.

Where to manage locations in Shopify

To review the locations Impulse can use, check your Shopify location setup:

Sign in to Shopify and open your store admin. In the left-hand menu, click Settings, then click Locations.Check the list of locations and confirm the locations you want to use are active and set up correctly.Go back to Apps and open Impulse. Impulse should follow the locations you have configured in Shopify.

Using multiple Shopify locations with Impulse

If you run your business from more than one warehouse, store, or fulfillment location, you can keep multiple active locations in Shopify. Impulse can work with that setup.

  • Impulse follows the locations that are active in Shopify.
  • You do not need to pick only one location in Impulse if Shopify is set up to use multiple locations.
  • If you want Impulse to reflect a different location setup, make the change in Shopify first.
Impulse does not replace your Shopify location setup. Shopify remains the source of truth for which locations are active and available.

What to check in Shopify admin

If you manage more than one location, review these items in Shopify admin:

  • The correct locations are active: Disabled or inactive locations may not be available for Impulse to use.
  • Your location list is up to date: If you recently added a new warehouse or store, make sure it appears in Settings > Locations.
  • Old or unused locations are reviewed: If a location should no longer be used, update your Shopify setup so Impulse follows the correct active locations.
  • Your Shopify changes were saved: After updating location settings, confirm the changes were saved before reopening Impulse.
If you are troubleshooting location issues, start in Shopify admin first. In most cases, correcting the location setup there will also correct what you see in Impulse.

What to do if the wrong location appears in Impulse

If Impulse seems to be using the wrong location, check the following:

Open Settings > Locations in Shopify and confirm the correct locations are active. If you recently added, removed, or updated a location, make sure those changes were saved in Shopify. After updating Shopify, return to Apps > Impulse and check the location setup again.

If you still see an older location, it usually means the Shopify location setup needs another review.

Do not rely on Impulse alone to confirm your location setup. Always verify your active locations directly in Shopify admin.

When to review your location setup

You may need to check your Shopify locations if:

  • you added a new warehouse or retail store
  • you now fulfill orders from more than one location
  • you changed which locations are active
  • the wrong inventory location appears to be connected in Impulse
